About
Campbellsville is located in the heart of Central Kentucky, nestled between the Cumberland Plateau and the Appalachian Mountains and offering the best of both regions.
One of the area's greatest recreational attractions is Green River Lake and the Green River State Park, which offers some of the finest fishing and boating in the state.
The Civil War battle of Tebbs Bend was fought here in 1863. A self-guided driving tour of the battlefield is available at the Jacob Hiestand Stone House, which serves as the Campbellsville-Taylor County/Green River Lake Area tourist information center in Campbellsville. Several local historic sites reflect the time period including log homes that were used as Confederate hospitals, schoolhouses and more.
