Central City is the largest city located in Muhlenberg County, which lies in the heart of Western Kentucky. Home of the world famous Everly Brothers, our 6,000 citizens enjoy direct access to the Western Kentucky Parkway, US Highway 431, US 62, and airport access via the Muhlenberg County Airport located 3 miles from the western city limits. The Green River forms the northern boundry of Central City and affords all with boating and fishing availability. You can keep up with all our activities through Central City's two weekly newspapers, the Times-Argus ( and the Leader-News ( The Muhlenberg County Campus of Madisonville Community College ( serves over 500 students in Central City and offers general education classes year round.
