Louisa is the town seat of Lawrence County Kentucky.
The city is nestled in the mountain ranges of Eastern KY. Waterways such as the Yatesville Lake, Big Sandy River, and Blaine Creek provide many recreational opportunities. Such country music stars as Ricky Skaggs and songwriter Larry Cordle were born and raised in Lawrence County. Another unique feature in Louisa is the "Ripley Bridge" so named as it was once featured in an edition of the original "Ripley's Believe It or Not". The bridge is unique as it crosses two towns, two states, two counties, two rivers, and turns right in the middle.
