Whitesburg, Kentucky

Nestled in the majestic mountains of southeastern Kentucky, Whitesburg is a nature lovers paradise. Located at the base of Pine Mountain, you are just a short drive from breathtaking views, hiking, camping, fishing and other great outdoor activities. Several state parks, including Breaks Interstate Park - home of the “Grand Canyon of the South,” are easily accessible from Whitesburg and make great day or overnight excursions.

Whitesburg residents embrace their Appalachian heritage and celebrate it each year with the Mountain Heritage Festival. Famous for the traditional mountain music and crafts, the event draws visitors from across the Southeast. Local artisans earn support and exposure for their traditional talents through Appalshop, which showcases music, films, plays, story telling and other arts throughout the year.

With its Mayberry-like charm and friendly people, Whitesburg isn’t just a great place to visit, it’s a great place to call home. The low cost of living, access to quality health care, affordable shopping, restaurants and entertainment make Whitesburg an attractive place to live, work and play.
