Lake Barkley State Resort Park is carrying on the tradition and hosting Eagle Weekend 2013, a weekend dedicated to our national symbol, the Bald Eagle. When the weather starts to turn cold, Bald Eagles from the north migrate south in search of ample food supplies. Kentucky State Parks takes this opportunity to arrange special field outings to view this majestic bird in the wild.
Tours by boat and van are available. In addition, programs are planned that will offer the opportunity to see and learn about live Birds of Prey from expert speakers.
