About

Dr. Lee Dugathin, University of Louisville professor, tells a story that is both a tale of natural and American history. The tale revolves around three fascinating individuals: President Thomas Jefferson, George-Louis Leclerc Buffon - wolrd renowned naturalist, and a very large dead moose. The theory of degeneracy was at the center of this tale and far outlived Jefferson and Buffon, continuing to have scientific, economic, and political implications for a hundred years.

Co-sponsored by the Boone County Public Library. The program will be held at the Main branch of the Boone County Library in Burlington, KY.
