The Parklands will host its 2nd Annual Spring Fling event on Saturday, May 10 from 10:00 AM -2:00 PM at Creekside Center in Beckley Creek Park. This free event showcases a variety of ways to enjoy a day in the park, as well as new additions this year including a Wellness Fair, Bike Rodeo, and 1k Fun Run to help your family become more active and healthy.
The day’s events include mountain biking lessons, interpretive hikes, fly fishing and paddling demonstrations, solar observing, and a summer camp fair. At 11:00 AM the Norton Kosair Kids 1k Fun Run will kick-off and all participants will have the opportunity to make their own medal at the finish line. A Bike Rodeo will be set up to teach children about bike safety, and the water will be running at the Marshall Playground and Sprayground to help them cool off after biking or running. Partner booths featuring the Audubon Society, Eastwood Market, Blue Mile running store and Kentucky State Parks will also be on site to answer questions about healthy park activities.
This is a great opportunity to get outdoors and kick-off spring, but there are events scheduled every month in The Parklands of Floyds Fork! Guided hikes, paddling and fishing opportunities, bike rides and more will make sure your family spends quality time outdoors year-round.
