Enjoy an interesting and educational weekend of seminars and workshops on Pioneer Appalachian Mountain Life. Encounter pioneer village life by seeing early toys, traditional feminine crafts such as quilts, and needlework pieces, traditional masculine vocations such as blacksmithing, and more.  Sessions will be held concerning early medicine with such topics as medicinal and edible plants and the establishment of Frontier Nursing Service.  The modernization of the area will be discussed with the discovery of coal, the establishment of coal camps, and the coming of the railroad and electricity into Appalachia.
