Gather in Paducah, Kentucky to experience the total solar eclipse on Monday, August 21, 2017. Paducah will experience the longest eclipse duration in the path of totality and will be in darkness for 2 minutes and 19 seconds. The path of totality spans a diagonal line of the contiguous United States from Oregon to South Carolina. Located halfway between Land Between the Lakes and Shawnee National Forest and with its own riverfront, Paducah offers prime geographical viewing of the eclipse.

A variety of events are planned for the weekend preceding the eclipse, including events at the River Discovery Museum and Challenger Learning Center. In addition, the Corona II Solar Eclipse quilt will be on display at National Quilt Museum. This quilt is revolutionary in the quilting world, one of the 100 most important quilts of the 20th century.
