About
This annual 10K Classic attracts runners from across the region to
compete for cash awards and prizes. Presented by the Medical Center, a
Health and Fitness Expo and Pasta Party will take place the evening
before the race (Friday, October 12) at the Sloan Convention Center.
Registration is open for the Saturday, October 13 event that offers a
variety of options for walkers and runners of every age and level.
Choose from the 1.5 Mile Fun Walk, the 5K Run/Walk, the 10K Wheelchair
Race and the 10K Classic. Kids can even join the fun with the Children’s
Classic sponsored by Graves-Gilbert Clinic Pediatrics.
Again this year, The Medical Center 10K Classic has been chosen as
the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) state championship race. Elite
Runners and experienced athletes, as well as recreational runners
looking for a challenge, will enjoy the 6.2 mile route through Western
Kentucky University’s campus and downtown Bowling Green.
Perks for participation in any event include a long-sleeve T-shirt,
free admission to the Southern Foods Pasta Party, prerace breakfast
snack and beverage, postrace snack and beverage and an opportunity to
participate in the $10,000 cash prize giveaway. All participants who
complete their event are eligible for the giveaway that is broken out
into $2,000, $3,000 and $5,000 cash prize.
All races take place Saturday morning and begin on the campus of
