Wildflower Discovery Weekend

Join the McCreary Co. Tourism Commission, the Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area and the U S Forest Service for a series of natural history talks and walks on wildflowers, black bears, geologic arch formations, amphibians, birds, waterfalls and the area's rich cultural history. Hikes are scheduled from 9am-12noon and 1pm to 4pm on both Friday and Saturday. Hikes will begin at the Yahoo Falls Picnic Area and the Blue Heron Interpretive Center. Pre-registration is required and group size is limited. Register at wildflower.eventzilla.net. Registration is $5.00/person/walk. There will also be an indoor presentation, Friday evening 7pm at the Big South Fork Scenic Railway Train Depot, concerning threatened and endangered species.
