McCreary County is located in southeastern Kentucky and surrounded by the southern portion of the Daniel Boone National Forest and the northern section of the Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area (BSFNRRA). It is a rugged 640,000 acre timberland with over 25 waterfalls and 40 natural arches. McCreary County is home to over 60 miles of the Sheltowee Trace as well as the Big South Fork River which has been named one of the top ten white water rivers in the country!
