About

Madisonville, located in the heart of Western Kentucky, is a great place to visit or call home.  Founded in 1807, and named after President James Madison, Madisonville offers amenities of a much larger metropolitan area while still retaining its small town charm, friendly people, and a welcoming spirit.  Whether traveling here on business, visiting with family and friends or just taking a break from the hustle and bustle of your busy life, Madisonville is truly "A Great Place To Be."

If you time your visit just right, you might find yourself in the middle of one of the many festivals or activities including the Hanson Village Arts Fair, the Antique Tractor and Mule Days Festival, Dawson Springs Bar-B-Q Fest, Morton's Gap Coalfield Festival, Friday Night Live or Return to Bethlehem.  Popular attractions include the Glema Mahr Center for the Arts with entertainers like Maire Osmond or the Doobie Brotheres, the Anne P. Baker Art Gallery, Western Kentucky Speedway, and the historic log cabin documenting the life of former Governor Ruby Laffoon.  Shopping enthusiasts will find numerous antique shops and unique boutiques, as well as mall shopping at Parkway Plaza Mall.  If enjoying the wonders of nature is what you love, then you might want to mountain bike the trails of Grapevine Lake, try your hand at a round of disc golf on our world class course or throw your fishing rod in one of our area lakes.

While in Madisonville, we highly recommend that you plan to stay a few nights.  If a bed and breakfast is what you had in mind, then you have definitely come to the right place.  We offer three choices of B&B's and each is unique in its own way.  However, if you are the traveler who prefers the standard hotel accommodations, you will not be disappointed.

We enthusiastically invite you to get away with us for a few days to relax and enjoy the good things in life.  For a visitor's packet or more information visit us on the web at www.visitmadisonville.com or call toll-free 877-243-5280.
