November 24

Thanksgiving Buffet at Kentucky State Parks
On Thursday, November 24th, leave the cooking to the master chefs at 16 Kentucky State Resort parks and enjoy a delicious buffet with all your favorite holiday trimmings.  Adult meals cost $18.99, children 6-12 $8.99 and kids under 5 eat free!  Entrees include (but not limited to) turkey and dressing, baked ham, candied yams, mashed potatoes and gravy, and of course, pumpkin pie.  The best part?  Not only is this meal delicious, there are no dinner dishes to clean and you can take a hike after dinner to burn off those extra calories while enjoying all the beautiful views Kentucky State Parks are known for.  To learn more about the 16 resort parks offering Thanksgiving buffets, as well as times and complete menus, visit http://parks.ky.gov/thanksgiving/

50th Frontier Christmas, Washington
Paxton Inn, built prior to 1810, will have seated dining offering traditional foods as well as KY Burgoo, Venison stew, and homemade desserts with Transparent puddings, a Mason County tradition. Washington Meeting House will offer Cream candy, Bourbon Balls, many kinds of fudge other candies, sandwiches and soups.

Children’s Tea Time with Mrs. Claus - Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill
$12.95 all ages
Dress your little ones in their holiday finery for an afternoon with Mrs. Claus. Enjoy spiced cider, cookies and sandwiches made for little fingers. Children must be accompanied by a paying adult.

Supper with Santa - Rough River State Resort Park
Kick off your Holiday Season with a trip to see Santa at Rough River Dam State Resort Park. While you are there, treat your family to a kid-friendly buffet at our restaurant.  The Jolly Fellow should arrive around 5:30pm.  There will be activities and crafts for the kids.

Hamcrafted Workshop - Copper & Kings, Louisville
Learn the timeless traditions of a Southern delicacy at “Hamcrafted: A Hams-on Workshop for the Country Ham Enthusiast” Thursday, Dec. 8 at 6 p.m. at Copper & Kings. The class includes a lesson on the history and heritage of country ham with author Steve Coomes, demonstration of curing and preparation from Kentucky State Fair award-winning curers Chris and Steve Makk and paired country ham and American brandy tasting. Christmas Tea at Wickland, Bardstown 
Julia Wickliffe Beckham, the only woman in the world to be the mother, sister and daughter of a governor, hosts a Victorian Tea at Wickland, Home of Three Governors. She shares her memories of her life at Wickland at the turn of the century. Saturday luncheon at noon; Sunday tea begins at 4 p.m. Reservations required. Cost $25.
