Barren River Lake


Barren River Lake is unsurpassed for fishing pleasure. With an abundance of largemouth, white, and hybrid striped bass, bluegill, channel catfish, crappie, and rough fish, you are sure to get a bite!

The lake provides hours of entertainment for the boating enthusiast. The marina has 100 open slips, 40 covered slips, a launching ramp, rental fishing boats and rental pontoons.

A 10,000-acre, dam-controlled lake created in the early 1970's, the lake has many federally protected Native American villages & burial sites around it.
The lake is situated in the rural, rolling hills of Allen, Barren and Monroe counties in south-central Kentucky, 95 miles southwest of Louisville and 90 miles northeast of Nashville. The historic, scenic and natural beauty of the rural Kentucky landscape in combination with an intensively managed Corps of Engineers Lake provides for an exciting and safe family recreational experience that will long be remembered.
