Lake Barkley is located near the cities of Kuttawa, Lake City, Rockcastle, Canton, Grand Rivers and Cadiz.
The lake was created about 20 years after the completion of Kentucky Lake. Lake Barkley was joined with Kentucky Lake by a free-flowing canal, connecting the two massive bodies of water. Lake Barkley today is home to campgrounds, resorts, and lots of lake recreation.
Situated in Caldwell, Livingston, Lyndon, and Trigg counties in the heart of Western Kentucky, the lake has 1,004 miles of shoreline and nearly 57,920 acres of water at summer pool.
