Located midway between Frankfort and Lexington along the Lexington and Ohio Railroad, Midway is home to a major thoroughbred race horse breeding operation, Three Chimneys Farm.
The town became Kentucky's first town founded by a railroad, and the major streets in Midway were named to honor the railroad's first officials. Many of the homes and businesses in Midway are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Midway provides charming opportunities to view the picturesque Bluegrass Region, an area noted for its fine farms which produce tobacco, corn, cattle and horses.
The city is host to a number of entertaining events each year. From horse racing to museums to festivals, Midway has something for everyone, young and old alike.
