4,141 acres, several oxbow lakes for bank or small boat fishing, special regulations for waterfowl hunting
What was once discussed as a potential National Wildlife Refuge, Doug Travis Wildlife Management Area has changed names and owners throughout its history. Formerly named the Westvaco WMA, for the name of the company that owned a paper mill on this site, Doug Travis WMA is a popular area among bird hunters in Kentucky. There are special permits and regulations that may apply to Doug Travis so be sure to check the current hunting regulations. The property also has many oxbow lakes and sloughs that hold good populations of panfish and bass.
