Featured on The Discovery Channel's "Dirty jobs" series, Hidden River Cave is an 8-mile labyrinth dissolved by a subterranean river flowing beneath the historic small town of Horse Cave. In 1867, famed naturalist John Muir called it "a noble gateway to the birthplace of springs and fountains and the dark treasures of the mineral kingdom." Adjacent is the American Cave Museum, honored by The Nature Conservancy Magazine as "a little bit of Smithsonian in rural Kentucky." The museum is the largest museum in the world dedicated to caves.
