General Description

Famed American artist John James Audubon studied and painted birds at the very site where the state park that shares his name is located. Appropriately, the park hosts the world's largest collection of Audubon artifacts and memorabilia depicting the artist's life. It is not just artwork and museum tours at John James Audubon State Park though, there are plenty of activities to get your blood flowing. There are 6.5 miles of trails throughout the park that vary in difficulty and length. There is a 28 acre lake that can be used for fishing, or enjoy it with a pedal boat rental. The campground is open from mid March until the end of November, and there are cottages available with a reservation.
