168 nature preserve, 8.5 miles of trails, woodlands and meadows, variety of plant and wildlife,
The 168 acres that now make up the Creasey Mahan Nature Preserve were originally a wedding gift to Virginia Creasey and Howard Mahan in 1921. The nature preserve was established by the couple in 1975 and established their dream of preserving their property for future generations to enjoy. The preserve contains woodlands, meadows, wetlands and a variety of wildlife, trees, birds & a meandering stream. There are over eight miles of trails throughout the preserve for people to travel and experience the beauty and natural history of the property. Virginia and Howard's colonial house still sits on the preserve and is popular among visitors. Creasey Mahan Nature Preserve hosts a number of events and classes throughout the year, and remains a popular destination for school field trips.
