Equestrian campground, 40 miles of trails, near Carter Caves SRP and Tygarts State Forest
Lazy Gait Horse Camp offers some of the best trail riding and camping anywhere in eastern Kentucky. WIth over 40 miles of trails and a full campground, there is plenty to see and do. The historical trails were once traveled by Jenny Wiley, the first White Woman Settler in Kentucky, and her native American captors. Beautiful Olive Hill, Kentucky is a short ride down the road, and riders can find good food and company at area restuarants. Also near the Lazy Gait campground is Carter Caves State Resort Park and Tygarts State Forest. Primitive and developed sites are available, as well as barns, a dumping station, a new arena and round pin. Lazy Gait is a must visit for trail riders in Kentucky.
