Kentenia State Forest is the oldest State Forest in Kentucky. Located in Harlan County it totals over 4,000 acres. Scattered among 7 plots, the Commonwealth of Kentucky acquired the land in 1919. It is open to public hunting and fishing, and the largest tract is accessible by way of the Little Shepherd Trail.
