6,746 acre WMA, fishing and boating access to Rough River Lake, open to state wide hunting regulations/seasons

Following portions of the shoreline of Rough River Lake, this Wildlife Management Area's total acreage will vary depending on lake levels. At full summer pool it covers almost 3,500 acres, but at winter drawdown levels it totals over 6,000 acres. In either case this WMA provides great access to one of the most popular boating and fishing lakes in the Commonwealth. The area is mostly wooded, but there are some cleared fields as well. Hunters should exercise caution due to the development of areas bordering the WMA in many sections.
