The Lake Barkley Wildlife Management area consists of a series of islands within Lake Barkley. Totaling over 900 acres, the property is mostly open water for fishing and boating. A significant portion of the area known as Duck Island is maintained as a waterfowl refuge. Access is easiest by boat from the main lake, and there are some forested areas present on the islands. All hunters must abide by KY hunting, trapping and fishing regulations.
