Completed in 1968 the lake has a boat launching ramp and a boat dock. There is a good population of different fish in the lake and fishing is the most popular form of recreation on Lake Linville. Lake Linville is also a popular place for paddlers to enjoy a relaxing flat water trip. Right outside of Renfro Valley, famous for its musical entertainment, Lake Linville remains one of the areas most popular outdoor destinations.
