While the sections of the Cumberland River below Cumberland Falls gets far more attention, the upper section should not be over looked. Totalling 16 miles, this stretch of river provides a little bit of everything for river adventure seekers. Seclusion, great scenery, good fishing and some light rapids and shoals make for a great float trip. Those not wanting to float the entire stretch have options as well. Thunderstruck Road lies and its access point are five miles upstream from the access at Cumberland Falls State Resort Park. .
