Wetlands and wooded areas, 7 trails, Panter Creek and Clear Creek flow through park, good numbers of wildlife, numerous attractions
Named for the major creek that flows through the park and serves as the principle drainage system for Daviess County, Panther Creek Park is one of the most popular parks in the Owensboro area. The Panther Creek Nature Trail was the first to receive the "Enjoy Outdoors America" award by Governor Brereton C. Jones. Visitors to the park regularly report seeing good numbers of wildlife, and the restored Ranger Station Fire Tower offers some great views of the park and surrounding area. Nature tours and educational sessions may be made by reservation. There are also a number of events and activities that take place in the park throughout the year.
