3.27 mile looped trail, follows ridgetop for 1 mile, descends to Barren Fork, follow Sheltowee trace near creek to complete loop, dirt surface, moderate difficulty
Located along the Cumberland Plateau in eastern and southern Kentucky, the forest encompasses over 707,000 acres of rugged terrain. Over 600 hundred miles of trails are scattered all throughout the forest for hikers, mountain bikers, horseback riders, and ATV/OHV riders. Experience natural wonders such as the Natural Arch and the Three Forks of Beaver Overlook. The Stearns Ranger District has the Natural Arch, Alpine, and Beaver Creek Wilderness recreation areas. Be sure to check because some areas do require a fee or pass in order to visit.
