2.2 miles, moderate, travels around Huckleberry Ridge, traverses lower slopes
Central Kentucky Wildlife Refuge, located in Boyle County, invites visitors to immerse themselves in an undisturbed section of central Kentucky's great outdoors. The refuge is 500 acres that sits just outside of Danville, bordering the stunning North Rolling Fork. Ten trails cover the refuge, allowing guest to experience nature the way that it was meant to be enjoyed. Each visit brings new opportunities to see a variety of wildlife, native to the region, on top of the vast display of wildflowers and native plant species. The refuge also provides a nature center and bird blind to enhance the educational experience of those curious visitors inquiring about their surroundings. The refuge is open year round from dawn until dusk.
