Sharing Carter County with Carter Caves State Resort Park, Grayson Lake State Park was once a favorite camping area for Shawnee and Cherokee Indians. The 1,500+ acres of the park encompass sheer sandstone canyons and gentle slopes. There are two hiking trails in the park, and they exhibit a good species of plant life for users to enjoy. The park is also home to the challenging, signature series Hidden Cove gold course, which was rated #4 by Golf Digest in 2005. There are boat ramps to access the 1,500 acre Grayson Lake and enjoy boating and fishing activities. 71 campsites are available for guests that can't fit all their adventure into one day.
