General Description

Situated in rural south-central Kentucky, Barren River Lake State Resort Park offers a number of activities for the outdoor enthusiast. Native Americans lived along the river dating as far back as 12,000 BC. Today anglers, boaters, trail users, and campers are merely the most recent to enjoy the beautiful area. Trails are available for guided hikes, non-guided hikes, or just leisurely strolls. A horseback riding stable at the park provides guests with the opportunity to try horseback riding. Visitors looking for outdoor accommodations will be pleased with the park's campground that provides 99 sites. Barren River Lake State Resort Park is a great place to get outside and take advantage of what the cave region of Kentucky has to offer.
