GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Manchester, the Land of Swinging Bridges, has an outdoor adventure for everyone. Several local creeks and rivers flow through Manchester and provide for some great mountain paddling adventures, as well as great fishing for smallmouth bass and muskie. Just outside of town is the Redbird District of the Daniel Boone National Forest. The Redbird District is home to the Redbird Crest Trail which is one of the more popular ATV trails in the region. Hunting is lucrative for several game species in Manchester including deer, turkey and elk. The Y-Holler Trail System, whose trailhead is found at the Historic Manchester Salt Works Pioneer Village, connects all throughout Clay County. Clay County is also home to more historic swinging bridges than any other place in Kentucky. These swinging bridges are not only beautifully constructed, but provide a great look into Clay County's rich history. Several local stores and restaurants are ready to serve visitors to Clay County and ensure your stay is comfortable, and memorable.
