Discover Orienteering
Looking for something a little off the beaten path? Then orienteering is for you. Orienteering is a sport in wilderness navigation where a person uses a map and compass to complete a course. It uses many of the same skills found in geocaching and adventure racing.
Kentucky is leading the nation in the development of new orienteering trails throughout the Commonwealth. In the first of its kind program and in cooperation with Orienteering USA, Orienteering Louisville and Orienteering Cincinnati, in 2012 the Kentucky State Parks Orienteering Trail will have courses at: Barren River Lake State Resort Park, Big Bone Lick State Park, E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park, Rough River Dam State Resort Park and Taylorsville Lake State Park.
So discover parts of the Kentucky State Parks that you normally might not see. Discover orienteering.
