1.5 mile hiking trail, approx. 10 miles of mountain bike trails, sports facilities, archery range, 18 hole golf course
Ben Hawes Park offers opportunities for both recreation and education. Formerly a State Park located west of Owensboro, the city now owns and operates the park that continues to offer guests adventure in the great outdoors. What was once the site of a deep coal mine operation that operated until the 1950s, there are a few remaining structures that trail users can check out. The park has plenty of room for various athletic fields and also has two trail systems. A popular golf course is located on, and operated by the park, as well as an archery range.
