750 acre lake, 8.8 miles below Carr Creek dam, variety of wildlife available for viewing, camping sites available, full service marina open year round
Home to one of the earliest pioneer settlements in the state, the marsh like area of Carr Creek is unusual to the mountains of Eastern Kentucky. This out of the ordinary habitat provides for abundant numbers of plant and wildlife. Other than unique scenery and animals, the park has plenty of activities to keep visitors entertained. Fishing in the 750 acre lake is good for bass, crappie, and walleye. Pleasure boaters can also enjoy the lake in their own boat, or rent from the full service marina. Camping is also popular in the park with 39 sites available.
