Olive Hill, Kentucky

About

Carter Caves State Resort Park is home to more than 20 caverns winding beneath its forested hills. Adventure awaits you, above ground and below below – explore trails and caverns, play golf, go canoeing and enjoy a weekend of outdoor fun at Carter Caves State Resort Park.

Lodge Rooms - Lewis Caveland Lodge is a beautiful fieldstone lodge offering 28 rooms with full amenities. Each room features a private balcony or patio overlooking the surrounding woodlands. Visit the welcome center for cave tour information and orientation, rest rooms and a gift shop featuring Kentucky handcrafts, books and much more.

Cottages - Carter Caves State Resort Park offers the seclusion of beautiful two-bedroom cottages. Eleven are available (10 have 4 queen beds and 1 has 4 double beds). Each has modern conveniences such as automatic dishwashers and microwave ovens along with covered decks that offer privacy and scenic views of the park’s wooded hills. Ten of the eleven cottages have two bathrooms. Nine have wood-burning fireplaces.

Camping - The Carter Caves State Resort Park campground offers 89 sites with utilities, 30 primitive tent camping sites, and 8 pull-through equestrian campsites specifically designed for horse owners. Dump station, two central service buildings with rest rooms and showers and two group camp buildings are available as well.

Dining - Tierney’s Cavern Restaurant honors our most popular attraction, the caves, and retired park naturalist John Tierney. The 100-seat restaurant has a menu that offers many appetizing selections, from steaks and seafood to salads. All our ingredients are of the highest quality and as a supporter of the Kentucky Proud program, locally grown meats and produce are used when available.

Golf - Play a relaxing round on the 9-hole golf course located near the lodge at Carter Caves State Resort Park. This fun course meanders through the scenic woodlands and even offers occasional glimpses of deer and turkey. If you left your clubs at home, no problem, rent a set from the pro shop. Golf carts and pull carts are also available.
