2,535 acres, 4x4 may be required to reach WMA, 4.6 miles of trail, leads through rugged terrain, steep, old-growth forests, ends at Hensley Settlement
Shillalah Creek Wildlife Management Area, nestled in Bell County and extending into Harlan County, is a popular attraction for local hunters. Covering 2,575 acres of rugged and steep terrain, it's not for the faint of heart. There are also some fishing opportunities on site for brook trout and a trail that leads travelers to the Historic Hensley Settlement. The WMA is accessible by foot only due to the amount of old-growth forest covering the area.
