Provides a good orientation to the forest, which stretches over 706,000 acres and 21 counties south to Tennessee. When you visit here, you are seeing what's left of the wilderness that Daniel Boone once explored, with steep forest ridges, natural arches, rushing streams, abundant wildlife and lust vegetation. Among the native wildlife are more than 100 species of birds, 46 types of mammals and 67 varieties of amphibians and reptiles. You can also enjoy the whole spectrum of outdoor activities, from backpacking to whitewater rafting.
