Located in the former Post Office building on East Main Street, tells the story of the 234 square miles which comprise this unique county of North Central Kentucky. Our goal is to present the more than two centuries of modern experience, as well as eons of natural history and 12,000 years of prehistoric occupation. The Georgetown & Scott County Museum is exceptional because it is the only museum planned exclusively for Scott County. The grand and majestic old post office building provides a perfect setting for visitors to spend an hour or two reveling in the history and beauty of this cornerstone Bluegrass county. There are several exhibits located throughout the museum to offer insight into the events and people of our history and how they influenced and continue to influence patterns of life and work. Because the history of Scott County is so vast, many of the exhibits will change from time to time.
