About
Visit one of the last complete company towns and shortline railroads in Kentucky. During April through October the whole family will enjoy this 16 mile round trip on the K&T Special aboard enclosed or open-air cars into the Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area. Visitation of Blue Heron coal mining camp as well as the McCreary Co. Museum are part of the round trip package. Listen to live music in the depot before each departure. Round trips are approximately 3 1/2 hours. Allow extra time to visit the Museum and do some shopping in the Historic District of Stearns.
Run to the Gorge. During the month of November enjoy riding in heated cars into the gorge of the Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area. Round trip time is approximately 1 1/2 hours in length.
Celebrate the holidays in our enclosed heated cars on the Santa Express the first three Saturdays in December.
