Description: To promote understanding of the Native American history, culture, beliefs, art and traditions of the indigenous people who inhabited this land before the European arrival and who still carry on these same tribal traditions today. To share this knowledge through education, creativity, social activities and cultural diversity in schools, pow wows, festivals and other events. To provide a point of contact for those interested in learning more about indigenous culture and possibly their own heritage. Our pow wow on Labor Day weekend each year brings together a large number of indigenous peoples from various areas and provides an opportunity for the public to interact with them on a close personal level.
