About

Kentucky Downs is the home of North America's only all-turf (grass) flat racing Thoroughbred track. It was first named the "Dueling Grounds" in reference to a nearby site that was famous for pistol duels in the 1820's. The "Downs" has been recently obtained by new owners who have made extensive renovations, and added a full bar. Live this years live Thoroughbred horse racing is September 7 ,11,14,18 and 25, 2013.  Post times (CDT) 12:10 p.m. Saturdays; 1:45 p.m. Mondays. The simulcast schedule may be viewed on the Kentucky Downs website.  Simulcast racing is seen year-round on several large screens. There will be other events taking place in conjunction with the races. 
Kentucky Downs is open 10 am - 2am Sunday - Thursday; 10am - 4am  Friday-Saturday.
