Founded in 1976, the Museum of anthropology serves as an educational, research and conservational unit of Northern Kentucky University. Through its mission, the Museum contributes to knowledge of and promotes the appreciation of the diversity and richness of human cultures and societies. Collections focus on the archaeology of Northern Kentucky and the middle Ohio Valley, contemporary ethnological arts of Native Americans, and contemporary ethnological and folk arts of world cultures, especially those of Latin America, Africa, and New Guinea.
