Kentucky's newest performing arts venue in downtown Bowling Green, the Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center, seats 1,800 people with an expansive stage and best-in-class theatrical and sound equipment suitable for Broadway shows, classical music, bluegrass to newgrass, lectures, touring comedians, and more as well as large corporate gatherings.
An additional 200-seat flexible studio theatre will host blues or jazz bands, intimate theatrical productions, local performing troupes or school groups and others desiring a smaller, more flexible and intimate performance environment.
SKyPAC's Art Gallery is dedicated to showcasing the best of local, regional and national artists, and an outdoor amphitheater (opening late 2012) will offer additional space for groups to perform in a relaxed atmosphere and for the community to enjoy movies “under the stars”. Additionally, the beautiful, open lobby is an ideal reception venue and community gathering space.
The facility hosts Broadway Musicals, Family Entertainment, Concerts and Comedians, and
also serves as the home of Orchestra Kentucky & Kentucky Stages. The Laura
G. Turner Lobby, an open space for the community, houses the main art gallery
exhibition space for regional and national artists. The Renshaw Education
Center houses the Carol Wedge Studio Theater - a flexible 2,600 sq. ft. space
for intimate productions and gatherings and a children’s art gallery. “We don’t
just entertain … we change lives!”
