About

Old Morrison, designed by Gideon Shryock, is the centerpiece of Transylvania University. Built in 1833, Old Morrison is a Registered National Historic Landmark and depicted on the seal of Lexington. Considered one of the finest examples of Greek Revival architecture in the nation. Old Morrison was modernized in 1970 and houses the University's administrative and admissions offices and chapel. Hours: Monday-Friday 8:30am-noon and 1-5pm. Groups please call for appointment.
