Accessible by blacktopped road, the new Breathitt County elk viewing facility allows visitors to view the largest elk herd in Kentucky. Surrounded by wetlands, ponds, and a variety of plant and animal life, the facility provides a beautiful panoramic view of the Kentucky mountains. From Jackson, travel south three miles on KY 15; turn left on HWY 1098; travel 16 miles and turn right on a newly paved road surrounding the hillside point identfied as "Southfork Elk View".
