Saar is a sculptor,
installation artist, painter, and printmaker equally adept at carving wood,
assembling found objects, or creating canvases out of materials with their own
histories: sugar sacks, mattress ticking, and old linens. In "Breach", she looks
back in time to the Great Mississippi River Flood of 1927 to investigate
contemporary and enduring social and cultural themes.
Her work is part of the collections of the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis,
the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York, and the High Museum in Atlanta,
