Mountain Parkway

  • Daniel Boone Country
  • Kentucky Appalachians
75 miles

This 75-mile stretch of road traverses the beautiful mountain landscapes of Eastern Kentucky, with easy access to some of the state's most adventurous recreation areas.

Some of Kentucky’s most famous outdoor attractions, such as Red River Gorge, Natural Bridge and Daniel Boone National Forest, lie just off the Mountain Parkway. Journey on the roadway to find the best in rock climbing and hiking, and stick around for a slice of pizza from one of Kentucky's most beloved restaurants, Miguel's, located in the Trail Town of Slade. Further east, country music fans will want to make a stop at Butcher Holler, the childhood home of Loretta Lynn.
