Lamp House Coffee
Full service gourmet coffee shop serving snacks, baked goods, light breakfast and lunch. Homemade sandwiches and soups served on big, buttery croissants are community favorites! Free Wi-Fi and complimentary local newspaper with purchase. The shop is an outreach of a local ministry and is a must-stop if you are in the area.
The shop is housed in the old miner's restaurant building, built in 1921. It is perched literally above Looney Creek. The original floor exists and tells the story of the old diner set-up and the segregation era in which it was constructed. (There are two front doors and evidence of a dividing wall on the floor.)
The building renovation, done by all-volunteer mission teams and funded with private donations, was awarded the Ida Lee Willis Foundation's Grassroots Renovation award in 2015.
